Today I was browsing devArt and found some anti-popular stamps. I took my time to read some of the comments and all were like "ooh those evil rude people! they think they're better than anyone, so arrogant, want anybody to kiss their asses, blahblahblah" ·__·U
First I'd like to know when an deviant is considered popular, when s/he has 500.000+ hits? When their pictures are always in the frontpage?
Also would like to know if you really think they're that arrogant/rude/etc.
Most of people who complain about these popular artists say they're rude 'cause they don't reply to comments, just took a popular deviation a look at the comments number, you really think they can reply to anyone else? Also a lot of comments are the "cool", "awesome", "
" like, I don't know how can someone reply to this ·_·U saying "thanks" is as hollow as saying just "cool" to a work of art. Anyway, that's not the point.
I think "popular" artists personality becomes a little bitter when they're asked for the same things all over again. Or it just that they're not as happy-happy as others and people think this is arrogance.
Anyway also there's people who is arrogant and rude at their popularity make it go worse. But I don't think it can be applied for everybody.
Whatever, that's my opinion but I want to read yours, as honest as you could be.

Hoy mientras vagueaba por devArt me encontré con varias stamps anti-popular. Me tiré un rato leyendo algunos comentarios y la mayoría eran del palo "aah! esa malévola y grosera gente, que se creen mejores que nadie, qué arrogantes, se piensan que todo el mundo debería lamerles el culo" ·__·U
Primero me gustaría saber cuándo un deviant es considerado popular, ¿cuando tiene más de 500.000 visitas? ¿cuando sus obras están siempre en la página principal?
También me gustaría saber si vosotros creéis que son tan arrogantes/groseros/etc.
Mucha gente que se quejaba de los artistas populares decían que eran unos capullos por no responder a los comentario, sólo abrid una deviation popular y mirad el número de comentarios que tiene, ¿de verdad se puede responder a todos y cada uno? También que muchos de esos comentarios son del tipo "cool", "awesome", "
", no sé yo muy bien cómo se responde a este tipo, decir "gracias" queda tan vacío como que te digan "cool" en un trabajo con horas de dedicación. Pero bueno, que este no es el caso.
Creo que el carácter de algunos artistas populares se agría un poco cuando se les pregunta por algo una y otra vez. O simplemente es que no son todos chachi-felices-mega-happy de la muerte y la gente ve esto como arrogancia, qué se yo.
Aún con todo, está claro que a algunos se le sube la "fama" a la cabeza y se vuelven unos capullos insoportables pero no creo que se pueda aplicar a todos.
Lo que sea, esta es mi opinión pero me gustaría leer la vuestra, lo más honesta que pueda ser.

Qué cosas... he de admitir que hace tiempo, pensaba que pasaban de la gente. Pero ahora les entiendo! No soy popular, y a veces me cuesta responder a todos los comments (entre otras cosas... porque no sé como responder un "cool!").
Ellos estarán saturados de comments así, y de hecho, ni siquiera tendrán tiempo de responder los comments decentes (a no ser que se tiren 25 horas al día en dA). Es una pena que se les critique tan mal por ello.
La popularidad es una espada de doble filo!

Primero,Me encanta leer tus Journals. xD
Segundo...por una parte puede parecer que sean arrogantes, pero es que imaginate tú que te estén preguntando todos los días la misma pregunta más de 500 veces...tiene que cansar. O incluso que te acosen. Que miedo!
Por otra parte, muchas veces los que dicen que los artistas ''
AL final, ante cualquiera de estas dos actitudes te acabas cansando. Y si te dedicarás a complacer a todos y a cada uno MORIRÍAS. Está científicamente probado.
Ante los comentarios de ''cool'' y ''awesome'' o ''good job'' etc etc etc ya ni me pienso pronunciar.
En el fondo se agradecen, ya que significa que a la gente le gusta lo que haces....pero contestar a esos comentarios está de más.
Aun así, y por muy mal que quede decirlo yo creo que en muchos casos se trata de pura envidia, y de la mala.

then there are popular artists who don't reply to comments, but thank the people who have commented and faved in their journals.
so not all popular artists are bad, it's just some of those snotty ones made up a lot of da drama...

It's not always the popular people don't reply to comments, some unpopular people don't reply too. Maybe because their main language isn't English or they just dump works here and got offline, yes, I was like this before I really became active.
It might be because they didn't get that many messages before so they don't understand. :/
Everyone start off as 0 watchers, even the populars, when I was a n00b at this place sometimes I did wonder "Why the popular people don't reply to me? >.<oh man...."
But now when it's my turn to get over 100 messages for per picture I began to understand.
And I believe those who have more watchers than I gets a lot more messages.
Reply though every single comment is suicide.
Instead doing that I would choose to answer what I think I have something to say. If I have nothing to say then I'll shut up

Yo no pido que me watcheen, o me favoriteen la foto principal de mi dA, como agradecimiento. Yo no espero eso, de veras. Pero me fastidia muchísimo que muchos no den las gracias cuando alguien los watchea.
Lo de los comentarios lo entiendo, debe ser una pesadez responderlos a todos, pero quienes conocen ya a los autores y ya llevan meses "con ellos", saben que lee los comentarios y agradece las opiniones, aunque no los conteste.
Pero no agradecer porque te watcheen? Lo siento, pero eso me jode muchísimo. Todos deseamos que nuestro arte sea grato para la gente que nos ve, que sea popular para hacer llegar la voz, cosas así... Sin los watchs, poca cosa seríamos, es gracias a la gente que nos watchea, que nos hacemos llegar a más personas. Al igual que los favoritos, que son igual de importante.
Pero un watch es como un abrazo, una palmadita en la espalda para ayudar a seguir adelante, un apoyo de una persona desconocida que cree en tu arte.
Y como tú dices, hay muchos que se les ha subido a la cabeza la fama y la popularidad de tener tropecientos mil faves en una foto y tropecientos mil watch más, pero hay otros que no.
Hay muchos artistas que no son considerados, que valen muchísimo, pero son invisibles.
